| Griots car clinic |
| Feb 18, 2006 - the club attended a car care
clinic at Griot's Garage in Tacoma. Nineteen members participated and an
excellent time was had by all. New member Dave Ghenov's 1996 Cobra was the
guinea pig for the exterior work and Bill Smallwood Jr.'s 2003 Cobra
convertible was used for the interior demonstration. Dave's car is a daily
driver and lives outside so it was an excellent demo choice. Will, Mike and
Brent of Griot's showed us the finer points of claying your car, polishing it
both by hand and by machine and showed off their company's wax. All of their
products are made in-house and they use no petroleum distillates. They also
demonstrated their interior products and showed us some neat tips to make that
part easier. The tech session ended with the giveaway of several nice car care
kits in a drawing. Congratulations to Jean, Bill Jr and Debbie. After all was
said and done, Mike and Brent spent another hour completing the work on Dave's
car. The difference a little time and effort can make is amazing.
